Kane County Board members also act as commissioners of the Forest Preserve Commission, meeting at 9:00 a.m., on the second Tuesday of the month, prior to the regular monthly County Board meetings.
The Forest Preserve Commission governs the Forest Preserve District. The President is elected every two years by the Commission and he/she in turn appoints members, with the Commission's approval, to serve on the Executive Committee. The Commission and the Executive Committee handle the District business of preparing policies and acquisition of open space for the citizens of Kane County.
