Blackberry Maples, listed as Main Street Woods in "Wild Plants and Natural Areas of Kane County " is our prime Sugar Maple woods. But, it is more too for there are lovely fens, sedge meadows and wetland pockets scattered about its attenuated landscape formed by glacial meltwater and Blackberry Creek.

This high quality open space node definitely has a future. Small open space bits of land, along Blackberry Creek have been acquired through the development process and the corridor linking of Bliss Woods - Waubonsee College campus with Johnson's Mound Preserve is a developing concept well under way.

Getting Here:

Blackberry Maples is located 6 miles west of Batavia and 1/2 mile east of Route 47.
