Beautiful vistas and rolling terrain are the outstanding features of the largest preserve in the system. Burnidge is a series of watersheds filtering into Tyler Creek. The size, various soil types and the high water table bring great potential. In 1992 the commission approved a joint agreement between National Fish and Wildlife Service and Kane-DuPage Soil District to further create a wetland habitat.

Paul Wolff Campground, named in 1990 upon Mr. Wolff s retirement from the Commission. The campground has a stocked fishing pond which is very popular with area residents and campers alike. Tent camping without hookups is offered in a lovely wooded setting isolated from roads and other activities.

Getting Here:

Burnidge is located on Coombs Road, west of Randall Road. Paul Wolff Campgrounds is located within Burnidge, 1 mile west of Randall Road on Big Timber Road.
