The Culver Forest Preserve is located on the north side of Rt. 30 and the west side of Hankes Road. It is part of the Blackberry Creek Greenway at the confluence of the sharply meandering main creek stem and East Run flowing from the Orchard Valley golf course subdivision. Degraded ox-box wetlands with scattered underbrush occupy over half of the land in the low creek basin, and a fine, mature Oak-Hickory woodland rises to the northwest. This property has good potential for flood control improvements and wetland restoration.

The 67 acres Shoger addition extending to the northwest is the final link in this West Aurora green belt. There are occasional border edge pockets of Oak and fence line vegetation including Walnut, Sumac, Elderberries and associated remnant, native vegetation.
