This 20 acre parcel of property was acquired in 1972 from Missionaries of the Sacred Heart. The preserve, running along the river, features one shelter, one parking area and one restroom facility.

The Forest Preserve District of Kane County central office is located in the government complex above the preserve along with the County of Kane.

Mr. Gunnar Anderson was the first employee of the District, hired in 1927 and remained with the District until his passing in 1993.

Getting Here:

Gunnar Anderson located south of Route 38, at the intersection of 1st Street (Route 31) and 3rd Street in Geneva. This preserve has a shelter and large field for games and picnics.
