The Kenyon Farm with its rolling wooded hillsides and 25 acre pond ringed with wetland vegetation is located in the middle of a massive suburban expansion in the Village of South Elgin. With a grade school of limited campus on the west, the bicycle trail on the east and a wetlands and landfill to the south, this center of quiet native habitat can only increase in neighborhood importance, value and use. A portion of an extensive archeological site is on the property. It appears most of the east side of South Elgin was an Indian settlement reaching back over 1,000 years.
