 Lake Run Forest Preserve is an artificial waterway created between 1911 and 1913, in an effort to protect the Lake Run Corridor. Drain tiles have also been put in place at Lake Run to make more tillable farmland. Lake Run Forest Preserve was acquired in effort to eventually connect Dick Young and Aurora West Forest Preserve.
