 Poplar Creek is a work in progress that will link the Fox River Trail with Bluff City Fen which is an Illinois Nature Preserve. It is a greenway along the creek and it involves the demolition of houses and buildings in the flood plain and the restoration of wetlands and stream meanders. This project includes participation from the City of Elgin, Kane County Forest Preserve District, North Cook Soil and Water Conservation District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Illinois Nature Preserve Commission, Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Fox Valley Land Foundation, Friends of the Fen, and Nature Conservancy. There are linkages yet to be acquired.
