Once a private fishing camp, this preserve shares the popularity of all our river properties. Its natural features were mostly destroyed long ago. The primary function was a gravel pit to the west with the railroad bridge linking the two sides of the river. Sadly, the gravel pit was converted to a dump by the city of Elgin. The Forest Preserve property does not have any landfill under it. However, there is no way to expand the size of the preserve property.

Summer weekends are very busy because of the boat launch. The river pool is sizable on the north side of Elgin and boaters come from a wide area to enjoy boating activities.

The Tyler Creek Trail connects to the Fox River Trail, running under the I-90 bridge to the east side of the river.

Getting Here:

Voyageur Landing is located on Frontage Road (Airport Road) via Route 31, along Fox River, below I-90 Tollway.
