Durant House Museum
The Durant House Museum, located at LeRoy Oakes Forest Preserve, is an
1843 brick farmstead built in a simple Greek
Revival style. The house has been restored as a living history museum representing the lifestyle and the furnishings of
the 1840's. A frame addition contains a kitchen and bathroom furnished to represent the Victorian era. As costumed
guides, Preservation Partners of the Fox Valley, a volunteer organization, welcomes the public throughout the year:
June 14 – October 4: Sundays from 1-4 p.m.
June 18 – August 20: Thursdays from 1-4 p.m
Private and group tours are available all year, by appointment. Call (630) 377-6424.
