Volunteer Opportunities
Program Information
All ages will find fun, informative and engaging programs at Tekakwitha Woods Forest Preserve & Nature Center. Program information is found in The Forest Focus, the District's quarterly publication. We also list announcements of special events held in regional media.
In addition to public programs, programming is offered to organized groups such as scouts, schools, and service organizations. We will schedule a naturalist guide to lead your group's activities, or you may choose a self-guided program. Groups must register, in advance, by calling (847) 741-8350.
Volunteers
Volunteers add an exciting dimension to the daily activities throughout our forest preserves as well as Tekakwitha Woods Nature Center. Docents lead school and scout programs year round, and natural areas volunteers assist with habitat restoration work in the preserves. We offer volunteers an enjoyable experience through program participation, training, and continued education. For information on volunteer opportunities, call the volunteer coordinator at (630) 762-2741 or email
